Description :

 

Requiem is one of the most outstanding creations of Verdi and at the same time his only major work not intended for the opera house. The reason for the creation of this work was the death of the Italian poet and writer, the author of the novel The Betrothal, Alexandro Manzoni, a citizen artist, one of the most prominent figures in the Italian national liberation movement. Verdi enthusiastically loved Manzoni and admired him as a wonderful writer and great man, an example of virtue and patriotism.
