Charity concert featuring Kanye West, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, CHRIS ROCK , Jimmy Fallon and Chris Martin (Coldplay), held December 12, 2012 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The concert was held in response to Hurricane Sandy, which devastated parts of the Northeast United States in late October 2012 and caused US $ 63 billion in damage. The concert was broadcast live on TV, radio, in cinemas and over the Internet on six continents to over a billion people. The concert lasted about six hours. Proceeds from the event went to the Robin Hood Foundation to help those hardest hit in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
