The plot is based on a real story, when the wife of one of the prisoners saved her husband from inevitable death. The development of events takes place in Spain, heroism, faith in the irresistible and fearless power of true love – all this was very close to the composer himself. The main character pursues only one goal – to save her beloved husband. Probably Beethoven himself dreamed of just such a woman, but, unfortunately, he was left alone.
